He forgot to add you have to put a lil bit of flux on your iron solder and then add a little iron to the tip of the solderer before making contact with the pcb board/pins. The flux added on to the tip of your solderer helps transfer the iron to the pins.
You can use a breadboard to hold it?!?!‽ I cannot tell you how much time and energy you’ve just saved me.
ALWAYS USE A GROUNDED IRON!
It was a bit daunting the first time that I did this. Flux makes a big difference. Instead of using a soldering wick to desolder, I use a solder sucker, and it seems to work well.
