  1. 65 Y.O. here and also have repairing professionally for my whole life. I fall into the if it ain’t broke camp with reservations. If a cap is obviously bad, swollen, vented, allowing ripple or has spent it’s life cuddling up next to a hot resistor and baked to death, then they should be replaced. But the idea that all of the ‘lytics should be replaced, just because they are electrolytic caps, is an exercise in potentially creating more problems. Medicos have the right idea. “First, Do No Harm”. Fix what is wrong and do preventative repairs, address known weak points. And hopefully I’m not cleaning up after someone who doesn’t know what they are doing. Cheers!
